Proefnotities/Punten:
This smells and tastes very much like caramelized grapefruit; it’s rich but also bright and has a clean finish. Pretty spice character on the finish. Drink or hold.
James Suckling – 90 pt.
The 2014 Rayne-Vigneau has a complex bouquet with scents of dried honey, quince, candlewax and desiccated orange peel. This really whisks you down to Sauternes. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, harmonious and focused with an intense, stem ginger and lemongrass tinged finish that lingers in the mouth, whilst maintaining the freshness and tension to urge you back for another sip. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. 2020 – 2040
