A fresh and elegant Le Pape with a medium body, fine and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Pretty and clean. Refined. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet sauvignon.
James Suckling – 91-92
This has solid ripeness, with plum and cassis notes flowing through, along with an ambitious oak regimen that results in ample toasted vanilla hints. This clamps down a touch on the finish, but there’s good purity and freshness, with fresh acidity buried within, leaving me optimistic.
James Molesworth – 91-94
Deep crimson with wide purple rim. Delicate dusty graphite aroma. Fragrant, supple, super-fine. Dry and elegant, with just the right depth of fruit for the structure. Refined and finishes juicy.
Julia Harding MW – 16.5
Neil Martin – 90-92
