The 2014 Phélan-Segur has a refined and understated bouquet with fine delineation, quite complex in style with crushed stone infusing the brambly black fruit, very well focused although not intense. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, lovely mineralité and grip, leading to a tensile and sustained finish. This property often punches above its reputation…this is superb. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. 2020 – 2035
